How long have you been missionaries?
Just 2 years after starting to follow Jesus we read "Why go to the Mission Field" by Last Days Ministries. And that lit a fire in our heart for the need to go into all the world. We were called to share the Gospel locally and abroad. The first night we met, we went out witnessing to some guys that didn't know Christ until late in the night. We worked like a team like we had known each other a long time. So we have been active in sharing Christ with others for nearly 30 years. We wanted to be worth exporting. The Lord launched us out into long-term overseas missions in 2004, so 10 years now.

How long have you been serving your current location (i.e. country, city)? Seven years. The first 2 years here we were full-time with YWAM Nehemiah House (home for girls who have been sexually abused). We are still working along side them but the Lord has expanded our territory, and we have much ministry going onion our squatter fishing village, several bible studies, youth ministry, sports ministry, music ministry, medical ministry, and mountain outreaches to tribes.

What are your kids names/ages?
Asa James was born into heaven Sept 12, 1997.
Bekah, our our miracle child was born Dec 2, 1999 (3 months in the hospital, water broke at 19 weeks).
Our first adopted Filipina daughter (was a Nehemiah girl) is Annamae. Her DOB is May 3 1993. She has a daughter Alexandra who is 2yo (Aug 3, 2012). Her abuse was for 5 years before she was rescued.
Our next adopted Filipina daughters are sisters, Naneth (11yo) and Tonette (8yo). They were severely neglected for the majority of their lives (almost like street kids), and were at risk at becoming Nehemiah girls. So we took them in.

What is one of the most challenging things about your ministry? Living among such poverty, the needs are overwhelming. So continuing to go to Jesus and asking Him what our priorities are.

What is one of the most rewarding aspects of your ministry (besides people coming to Jesus of course!)? Seeing those who were wounded, insecure, surrendering to Christ, and then growing in Him and becoming free, healed, mature and secure in Him. Seeing them grow up and shine Jesus' light brightly!!!

What is one of your favorite verses? "Let us fix our eyes on Jesus the author and protecter of our faith" Heb 12:2a And Mat 6:33 "Seek Him first His kingdom and His righteousness and all these things will be added unto you"

Manila, Philippines -
How long have you been missionaries?
Mitch was a former US Marine from 1984 to 1988 and entered directly into training with Youth with a Mission (YWAM) in the Philippines and has now lived in the Philippines since 1988. Liberty, was born again in college in Manila in 1984 and joined Youth With a Mission in 1988. They met in ministry and have been married since 1991.

How long have you been serving your current location (i.e. country, city)?
Mitch and Liberty have been serving with Youth With a Mission since 1988 and have had outreaches in over 27 countries and have witnessed in one form or another in all 50 States in the USA. Mitch is currently pioneering a new YWAM Operating Location in the tyhoon devastated city of Tacloban City for all of 2014. Their "home base" is in YWAM Antipolo City near Metro-Manila, Philippines.

What are your kids names/ages?
The Metzgers have two daughters: Evangeline (age 18) who recently graduated from highschool in the Philippines and is currently in Virginia Beach working, saving and rasiing money to do her YWAM Discipleship Training School in March 2015 in Chile. Her field iof interest is Media and Missions. Victoria (age 13) is with Mitch and Liberty in Tacloban City and attends Grade 6 in a School of Tomorrow's Accelerated Christian Education (ACE) based program.

What is one of the most challenging things about your ministry?
We are in a contant lifestyle of raising money. It is not a burden but a continual activity and reality. We are continually adding donors to replace those that finish their commitments. We raise money for others as well, special projects, transport needs, credit debts and many obligations. Although everything eventually gets paid we are always playing catch up.

What is one of the most rewarding aspects of your ministry (besides people coming to Jesus of course!)?
Pioneering and starting new this and that's that seem to multiply themselves. An example is here in Tacloban City. We can here initially with an advance team of six people on day 6 following the typhoon destruction. Now, one year later, we have a church with about 30-40 members and we have baptized 50 people. This is very fulfilling.

What is one of your favorite verses?
2 Timothy 2:2 is a favorite verse about "imparting everything we know to FAITHFUL MEN who shall be able to teach others also."
